ZOA Officials Speaking at Anti-BDS Event

On Monday evening, January 11, 2016, two Zionist Organization of America officials will speak at a free anti-BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) event at the Mashadi Jewish Center, 54 Steamboat Road, Great Neck, NY.
The event is entitled “Understanding BDS and How To Respond” and will focus on helping college students to deal with BDS activities and accompanying anti-Israel propaganda on U.S. college campuses. Starting at 7 p.m., there will be a light dinner. The program will begin at 7:45 p.m., and a desert reception will follow at 9:30 p.m. Community partners for this event include twelve local area synagogues. College and high school students are especially urged to attend, and people of all ages are welcome. IDs will be checked at the door.
The ZOA speakers will be:
ZOA’s New England Campus Coordinator Jonathan Ginsburg. Jonathan made aliyah to Israel in 2007 and served in the IDF (Israel Defense Forces). He helps lead ZOA’s mission to bring fact-based pro-Israel advocacy to U.S. college campuses. This will be a great opportunity for students who attend or expect to attend college in Boston or other parts of New England to meet and speak with ZOA’s campus coordinator for these areas. Jonathan may be reached at jginsburg@zoa.org.
and
ZOA’s Director of Special Projects Liz Berney, Esq. Liz uses her legal expertise, writes, speaks and helps organize demonstrations to defend Jewish rights and Israel, and combat BDS and anti-semitism. Liz was one of the organizers of the demonstrations against the anti-Semitic “Death of Klinghoffer” opera; is involved in ZOA’s battle to remove groups that promote BDS from the World Zionist Congress; is involved in U.S. legislative and legal efforts opposing BDS; and is involved in ZOA’s factual advocacy efforts.
In addition, two speakers from the ADL will be on the panel, and students from the local Great Neck community will be the moderators.
